Gisborne's Millennium Wall is sited in the Centennial Marine Parade on the fore shore of Waikanae Beach, Gisborne.
The Millennium Wall was created to welcome the first sunrise of the new millennium in the Year 2000. People had the opportunity to register their names and be recored on the wall. There are currently 5 Sections, 358 Tiles and 35,325 Names on the wall.
We are no longer taking names for individual tiles, but companies, clubs, organisations etc. can purchase a tile fixed to the wall for approximately $800. This could be an excellent way for companies to recognise their staff or for a club or organisation to use this as a fundraiser.
For example: If a club was to sell 90 names to members at $20 each this would raise $1,800 less cost to place the tile ($800) leaves a $1,000 profit for your organisation.
To find your name on the wall click here. This is a large file in Excel and may take sometime to open. To locate your name you may need to copy and paste the database into the Excel program on your computer - you are then able to use all the normal features of Excel. Under Edit is the Find option, or as a shortcut select the Ctrl and f keys (for PC) or Cmd and f keys (for Mac).
To see a photo of your tile you will need to email us the Section and Tile number and we will email a .jpg of the tile. To see an example Click here
