3 Day Highlights Itinerary

Day 1

Afternoon:
Historic tour around Gisborne finishing at the inner harbour for a dinner of local seafood and fine Gisborne wine.

Day 2

Option 1:
A short journey on SH 35 to Tolaga Bay experiencing some of the magnificent coastal scenery of the Pacific Coast Highway.
Tolaga Bay is a scenic 45 minute drive from Gisborne
Morning:
Visit the historic Tolaga Bay Wharf - at 660 metres in length it is the longest in New Zealand.
Stroll over the Cooks Cove Walkway - gives panoramic views of the rural countryside. Tupaea's Cavern, a natural rock archway, connects Cooks Cove with Tolaga Bay. Here in the cove Captain Cook stayed six days repairing the 'Endeavour' and taking on water and supplies.
Afternoon:
A deep sea fishing experience.

OR

Afternoon:
Morere Hot Springs - soak in the Nikau Pools set in a tranquil forest grove. Short bush walks available. 50 minute drive from Gisborne
Late Afternoon:
Tour around a couple of our many top class Wineries/Vineyards.

Day 3

Trip to Eastwoodhill Arboretum, Experience one of New Zealand's hidden treasures. This is the largest and finest collection of exotic trees and shrubs in New Zealand. It also hosts the largest collection of Northern Hemisphere temperate trees in the Southern Hemisphere. 30 minute drive from Gisborne.
